about workshops

“I have rarely seen the kids so excited about writing!
Mrs Scrase, Year 3 teacher, Surrey

“Inspiring workshops! All the kids left bursting with enthusiasm”

“Thanks for making us famous!”
Class 4N, Barham Primary School, Brent

Our workshops aim to get children excited about their local public libraries. Seeing the space as fun, creative and interactive, our story writing workshops get children into libraries, and returning with friends and family. Working with between 15 and 30 key stage 2 children we develop a story as a group, based around the host library.

During workshop we create the beginning and middle of the story as a group, and just as the story reached the big climax we allow the children to write individual endings. Taking all the endings we  use an amazing illustrator (see our previous ones here) and produce a beautiful colourful illustrated book. Bringing friends and family with them, the children can return to the host library to see their library book.

If you want to host, take part in or support one of our workshops, we would love to hear from you. Our workshops are easily adaptable and we love a challenge, so if you have an idea, let us know!

A big thank you to our sponsors who have made our past workshops possible.
